Collaborative Test Automation
I help software teams build and integrate sustainable test automation.

Quality doesn’t come from team consensus—it comes from individuals taking ownership.
Test automation projects often begin with enthusiasm. Powerful tools make script creation easy. However, many fail to sustain momentum. When applications change, tests become outdated. The result? A neglected framework, low coverage, and releases plagued by uncertainty.
In my 15 years as a test engineer, I've witnessed this pattern repeatedly. From these experiences, I developed a methodology that anchors test automation within the team through effective collaboration.
This ensures reliable quality control and secures long-term investment in your test framework.
Methodology
While every project is unique, my methodology provides a structured approach to collaborative test automation.
1. Clarify
Establish a clear test automation strategy.
Align, prioritize, scope
Outcome
- Clarity
- Focus
- Confidence
2. Automate
Design and implement an initial version of the test framework.
Select tools, script, stabilize
Outcome
- Shared understanding
- Automation
- Quality gate
3. Enable the Team
Make automation accessible to the team and enable them to contribute to the test suite.
Fit workflow, expose, enable
Outcome
- Automation leverage
- Increased test depth
- Deployment gate
4. Establish Ownership
Create a structure for maintaining and evolving the test framework.
Define roles, allocate time, set rhythm
Outcome
- Knowledge sharing
- Change resilience
- Operational harmony
5. Secure Growth
Demonstrate the value of test automation to leadership to secure investment and scale adoption.
Quantify, show impact, standardize
Outcome
- Cross-team synergy
- Environmental reliability
- Extended test scope
Case Study
"An impressive 90% of our regression tests are automated using the «WTF». Moreover, with reusable automation steps, we can use it very flexibly. The «WTF» frees up space for our daily tasks."
Markus Wong — Senior Business Analyst, AXA Switzerland
About Me
I used to be a lone coder, frustrated by shared code bases where poor quality was the norm because of a lack of ownership.
Then an interdisciplinary test automation project changed everything. Our diverse backgrounds helped us create an environment where everyone effectively contributed their expertise. We achieved test coverage far faster than anticipated, and the team energized me.
